Veterans Services
The Duluth WorkForce Center provides specific job placement
services to military veterans.
To qualify for services you must meet the following veteran
definition and be registered with the Duluth WorkForce Center:
Any individual who served more than 180 consecutive days on active duty (not for Reserve
or National Guard training)
OR
Any individual who served on active duty and was released because of a service connected
illness or injury. (Does not have to meet the 181 day rule).
OR
Any individual who was in the National Guard or Reserves and was called to active duty
during a war or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge is authorized.
(Examples are Panama, Grenada, Beirut, Persian Gulf, Desert Shield or Desert Storm. You do
not have to have served in that area.)
Our Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVERs) can provide veterans with:
- In-person orientation to Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development programs and procedures
- Job Search information, sample resumes, cover letters, job search videos, etc.
- Information and referral to appropriate agencies and services
- Eligibility determination for special programs and services to employ/train veterans
- Information on veteran's employment benefits/rights/preferences
- Case management of Ch. 31 participating veterans
